Materials
fabrics are 44"-wide
- 4 1/2 yard of fabric for the background squares
- 3/4 yard of fabric for the triangles
- a lot of scraps for the hearts
- 1 yard of fabric for the border
- 3/4 yard of fabric for the binding
- 5 yard of fabric for the backing
- 82" x 82" of batting
Step-by-step
including 1/4" seam allowances
- cut 365 squares 4" x 4" of the background fabric
- cut 13 squares 6 1/4" x 6 1/4" of the triangle fabric. Cut each square two times diagonally to get 52 triangles
- cut 2 squares 3 3/8" x 3 3/8" of the triangle fabric. Cut each square once diagonally to get 4 triangles
Use your template to draw your hearts and use your favorite method to appliqué.
Start in the upper left corner and make diagonal rows. There are 14 hearts on a horizontal row with a total of 14 rows (and 13 rows of 13 hearts between them)
